Document Description Inspired by the Battle of Flodden field, fought in 1513, in the county of Northumberland, England between English and Scottish armies. James IV of Scotland was killed in the battle. Possibly influenced by Sir Walter Scott's epic poem about the battle titled 'Marmion' published in 1806.
