Document Description The Philosopher Country. Trithemius desires that his daughter Eugenia marry the philosopher Nardo, however, she is in love with another, the noble Rinaldo. The servant Lesbina goes instead to meet Nardo who has never seen Eugenia. He ends up falling in love with Lesbina believing the true daughter of Trithemius. After much confusion and misunderstanding, Nardo is finally made aware of the true identity of Lesbina but accepts it and loves her still. There is a double wedding between Nardo and Lesbina and Rinaldo and Eugenia. Trithemius finds consolation by marrying Lena, a niece of Nardo.
