Document Description An English Colonel, in love with the rich niece of a poor widow inn keeper living near Paris, employs his servant (Denning) to convey his love to her. To elude the vigilance of the aunt, he assumes successively the garb of a French courier, an English grenadier, a tourist, and a sailor.
