Additional Information Produced as 'A Wife in the Right'. Manuscript is endorsed with an 'X'. Compared with the printed 'A Wife in the Right', there are many differences; discrepancies in dialogue, order of scenes, and points of division between acts. John Payne Collier in his Biographia Dramatica: It was sent to the licencer without any title and Capell inserted the name of 'Patience the Best Remedy' in Colman's Letter of Feb 20th. 1772 -- On the outer cover of the MS it is called 'Patience the Best Remedy or a Wife in the Right.'
