Additional Information | Produced as 'The Follies of a Day', the manuscript includes a prologue. Compared to the printed version 'The Follies of a Day; or, The Marriage of Figaro', 1785 there are slight differences. John Payne Collier in Biographia Dramatica: Holcroft told me that he took down the dialogue &c in the first instance in the theatre at Paris, then wrote it out & sent the piece to England.
