Additional Information Application from William Powell, Theatre Royal in Manchester, however, the manuscript notice, signed by Powell, at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Manuscript is dated by Larpent Drury Lane April 1790. Compared to the printed edition from Huddersfield, 1798 [?], the manuscript lacks the songs and there are slight differences in dialogue. John Payne Collier in Biographia Dramatica states: It was sent to be licensed on April 12, 1790 by W. Powell then prompter at D.L. Theatre who stated that it was to be performed at Manchester-It was probably therefore acted before 1793.
