Document Description | Letter states: To the Worshipful the Mayor and Corporation asking for the Town of Richmond in the County of York. The humble petition of Frances Marion Butler comedian, who respectfully solicits that your worship will grant to him a licence to perform such plays and entertainment of the theatre for the space of 60 nights at Richmond in the said county as are or shall be represented in the licensed theatres of Westminster and have been submitted to the inspection of the Lord Chamberlain. Licence to be enforced during the months of September, October and November. Commencing from 30th September 1823 and your petition will ever pray. F M Butler August 25th 1823 |
