Document Description | Letter states: To the right Worshipful the Mayor and Corporation acting for the town of Richmond in the County of York, The humble petition of Samuel William Butler comedian who respectfully solicits that your worship will grant to him a license to perform such plays and entertainment of the stage in Richmond within this said county for the grace of 60 days, as are or shall be represented at the licensed theatres at Westminster or have been submitted to the inspection of the Lord Chamberlain. The said licence to be in force during the months of October, November and December in the present year. As your petitioner will every pray. Samuel William Butler September 8th 1824 |
