Additional Information | Manuscript notice applies also to The Widow of Malabar (LA 869); states The Crusade is intended for May 1. Manuscript includes prologue and address and a note from Larpent to Lewis, Apr. 26, demanding that a passage be expunged (it is deleted in manuscript); an apparent reply is bound with LA 1058. Compared to the printed version 'Songs, Duets, Chorusses, &c., in the Historical Romance of The Crusade', 1790 there is a difference in Act I correspondence but less discrepancy in later acts; songs, only, printed. |
